Training the Trainers

Training the Trainers – Freshte Nejat School, Kabul

Building Knowledge. Empowering Teachers. Reaching Families.
The Partnership Afghanistan Canada (PAC) is proud to lead the Training the Trainers project in partnership with Freshte Nejat School in Kabul—a powerful initiative designed to create lasting impact for children, families, and communities.

About the Project
This project focuses on training a group of dedicated teachers at Freshte Nejat School with essential knowledge in:

  • Child development
  • The importance of the early years (0–5)
  • Health, safety, and nutrition
  • Positive parenting and emotional well-being

Through this training, teachers are equipped not only with knowledge—but with the confidence and skills to become trainers themselves.

Ripple Effect: From Teachers to Families
After completing the training, these educators will go on to deliver a Parenting Course to 84 families in their community.
This creates a powerful ripple effect:

  • One trained teacher → many informed parents
  • Informed parents → healthier, more supported children
  • Strong families → stronger communities

Why the Early Years Matter
The first five years of a child’s life are the most critical for development:

  • The brain develops rapidly, forming the foundation for learning and behavior
  • Early relationships shape emotional security and resilience
  • Positive early experiences influence lifelong health and success

By helping parents understand this, the program empowers them to provide nurturing, responsive care that supports their child’s full potential.

Community-Centered & Sustainable
This project is rooted in local leadership and sustainability. By training teachers within the community:

  • Knowledge stays within the school and community
  • Cultural values and language are respected
  • Support for families continues beyond the project timeline

Impact
Through this initiative, we aim to:

  • Strengthen parenting knowledge and confidence
  • Improve child development outcomes
  • Build stronger connections between schools and families
  • Promote the well-being of children in Kabul

Looking Ahead
PAC remains committed to expanding this model—because when teachers are empowered, parents are supported, and children are nurtured, entire communities thrive.

Together, we are investing in the earliest years—where the future begins.
